My Story

I’m Zach — the heart behind Island House.

For as long as I can remember, I dreamed of creating a place where people could gather around good food, feel at home, and make lasting memories. That vision stayed with me as I grew up in New York, where family, hard work, and faith were always at the center of life.

Hilton Head became home when I came here to play baseball at USCB — and it’s where I met my wife, Kenzie. She’s not only my biggest supporter but you’ll often spot her behind the camera capturing photos and videos for our social media, welcoming guests, or enjoying a meal with friends on the patio.

Building Island House has truly been a family journey. My parents, David and Sharon, have been a constant source of love, encouragement, and mentorship through it all. In the early days, my brother Dq and his son James also played a role in helping us provide guests with great experiences. Every day, Kenzie and I pour our hearts into the details that make Island House what it is today.

Together as a family, we’ve created more than just a restaurant — we’ve built a home for the community. I’m so grateful you’re here, and I can’t wait to share this dream with you.
